Rodger Devine
Rodger Devine is the Associate Dean of External Affairs for Strategy and Innovation at the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at the University of Southern California. In this role, Rodger partners with the Office of Advancement, Office of Communications, Public Exchange™, and external-facing constituents to gather business requirements, build roadmaps, and provide executive leadership for decision support, solution delivery, and program innovation. Rodger also partners with senior administration and other university stakeholders to build and foster a culture of continuous process improvement, collaboration, and innovation. Prior to joining USC, Rodger served as the Director of Information, Analytics, and Annual Giving at the Michigan Ross School of Business, where he managed information systems, analytics, and business processes related to development strategy, portfolio activity, and goal attainment.
Rodger brings 20 years of experience in enterprise software engineering, information technology, business intelligence, service management, organizational development, and cross-functional leadership. Rodger completed his graduate studies in information science at the University of Michigan School of Information, where he currently serves on the Alumni Society Board and was previously a member of the Michigan Data Sciences team and co-founder of the Student Organization for Data Analytics. Rodger is presently completing his doctoral studies in Organizational Change and Leadership at the USC Rossier School of Education with a research focus on self-directed online learning related to technology change, workforce upskilling, and organizational development.
Rodger co-authored Data Science for Fundraising: Build Data-Driven Solutions Using R and Hands-On Deep Learning with R: A practical guide to designing, building, and improving neural network models using R. Rodger presents at various conferences, teaches data science workshops, and volunteers with non-profit organizations such as Apra, AASP, and CASE, among others. Rodger looks forward to connecting with other lifelong learners and building diverse communities of professional development, expertise and practice across higher education and beyond.
